NLCS students are designing furniture out of cardboard pizza boxes. The teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are growing in their importance in today’s schools. NLCS students are ahead of the game and experiencing these first hand as they play the role of designer, engineer, and manufacturer. Students were required to draft a solution, build a scale model, and then build their piece of furniture to hold at least 150 pounds. There are some amazing designs that will hopefully be displayed throughout the community.
