Students who do not show proficiency on the MCA reading or math assessment, through the GRAD retest, or a GRAD alternate route can meet state graduation requirements by taking a college entrance exam. The ACT and SAT tests are common college entrance exams, but the ASVAB or Accuplacer may be used to meet the state graduation requirements. These college entrance exams are offered locally throughout the school year. NLCS coordinates with Itasca Community College and the US Military to offer these tests to 11th and 12th grade students before they graduate.
Itasca Community College is an official site for ACT testing. ACT tests take place on various Saturdays throughout the academic year. To register for the test, contact ACT directly at www.act.org.
You may register to take the ACT test at: www.act.org
The Accuplacer test is also offered by Itasca Community College on a regular basis throughout the year. You can call 218-322-2320 or 218-322-2390 for more information.
